Crazy Eyes

My husband was trying to take some photos of Miles with his cell phone. This is what he got. Never have seen this before! I haven't noticed Miles eyes being hyper reflective at any other time so I am hoping it is just the flash on the phone and not some problem with his eyes.

Funny story about Miles. Sunday morning we were trying to sleep in a bit and woke up to the lovely sound of Miles drinking out of the toilet. Went back to sleep and woke up to Miles hopping up on the bed a short time later. He walked over to Roy, stood over him, gagged and threw up on Roy's head. I almost fell out of bed laughing. He had had a bit too much of that toilet water. I just hope Roy remembered to flush. ROFL

Have had a few days of rain so Miles and his sister Piper have not been able to play outside or go for walks. Their brother Otto hasn't been over either. This is NOT a good thing!!! My friend Ann came over to visit and Miles went nuts leaping around. Fortunately she knows not to talk to or touch him and to just ignore him while he is acting like that. That didn't stop him from sticking his tongue in her mouth though during one of his leaps. ACK. He finally got control of himself and sat calmly so he could get petted. It didn't last long and he took off running into the bedroom, slid across the bed, sliding the covers off. Then ran around again and spun around on the bed and slid the mattress partially off. Weather is supposed to be better tomorrow thank goodness!!

We weighed Miles a few days ago and he weighs 74lbs. He suddenly is starting to put on muscle. His narrow puppy chest is starting to get wider. Still has a ways to go so I am sure he will end up being over 80lbs at a muscular racing weight once he finishes filling out. Looks like the hormones have started kicking in so he may be about as tall as he is going to get. He is nearly 30 inches right now at the shoulder. He is a big guy.

7 months!

The puppies were 7 months old on August 6th. Miles weighed 60lbs and Otto weighed around 55 - I think that is what his dad, Joe, said. I can't believe they are so grown up looking. That cute little puppy stage sure doesn't last long. The puppy brain with adult sized body lasts for 2 or 3 years. Why can't that be reversed?

They are about as tall as a 75lb male and are towering above most females now. Of course they still don't have the adult length or muscle yet so look like little giraffes. If they stop getting taller right now and just start filling out they will be mid sized males. They should keep getting taller for another few months so could be very large males.

Miles has had a little growth on him for a few weeks. Took him to the vet and she thinks it is just a histiocytoma. Will give it a few more weeks to go away on its own. Probably nothing to worry about. Pinky had the same thing a couple of years ago.

Miles is chasing the lure and has been since he was about 6 weeks. This video was taken when he was nearly 6 months old.

Kohle

Since Kohle doesn't have as many photos as the other boys, I took a bunch the last time he came to play. These were taken at 15 weeks old.

Good thing I got photos when I did. Kohle injured his shoulder while playing at home and is on crate rest so hasn't been able to come play this week.

Love this picture of Kohle running even though he is running so fast that he is just a blur. He LOVES to run even more than the other boys. He has only a small yard at home so when he comes here he just runs and runs and runs.

Sand and Sticks

We have a name finally! Miles Per Hour - Miles. Ann Owens came up with that name on our first trip to see Alabama to visit the puppies when he was just 10 days old. Seemed to fit him the best since he can outrun me at just 8 weeks old.

Miles was lacking a few of his 100 people that he needs for proper socialization before he turns 9 weeks old so we headed to Sandy Paws at Jekyll Island Georgia to find a few more people. I think he got held and petted by more than 100 people in one day alone there. He gave out kisses to all and had so many pictures taken of him that he should never be afraid of any flashing lights or lightning. We got there Friday and left Saturday night so were only there 2 days of the event. We had a good time and there were a lot more firsts. His first ride in an elevator and it was a glass one. He did his first full steep staircase since we were on the second floor. He learned to go up and down the whole way on his own. His first night in a hotel, first night sleeping in a bed, first sand, first beach, first waves and probably a bunch more I forgot. Got a photo of him doing his first open stairs out on the beach. He did great and didn't seem stressed by any of it. No accidents in the hotel room at all or in any of the indoor vending areas. He always went outside.

7 Weeks bad...old!

At this age there is a lot of play fighting some more fight than play.

Then there is a peaceful moment while the pups catch their breath.

Don't worry mom will never notice this one is gone. She has another one exactly like this one.

Learning how to go up and down steps.
